PM says 2022–2024 budget to prioritize living standard growth

MOSCOW, Sep 21 (PRIME) -- The Russian budget for 2022–2024 will prioritize the growth of living standards, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said on Tuesday at a government meeting.

"We will be discussing the draft federal budget for the next three years. It defines further development of our country. This is a big and complex work. It is based on a simple idea: the growth of living standards of people, since care for the citizens is our priority," Mishustin said.

Social spending is forecasted to increase in the period, he said.

Mishustin separately said that labor market figures have returned to the pre-COVID level, and consumer demand was about to return to that level. The gross domestic product (GDP) was expected to grow 4.2% in 2021.
